Go REO program is an excellent opportunity for customers to match their monthly energy consumption to be ‘clean & renewable’ by adding a voluntarily charge on their monthly invoice. These extra funds will be collected at the end of a 12 month period to purchase Massachusetts Class I Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) which will be used to fund future energy renewable projects in the Commonwealth.

Just select your energy renewable level using the chart above as a guide to select the extra charge that will be added to your monthly bill. You will still pay your monthly Mansfield Electric bill, but your participation in the Go REO program ensures that you are doing your part to reduce your family’s carbon footprint and make a cleaner world for future generations.

In 2020, 47 customers participated in the program and contributed a total of $9,240, which was used to purchase 228 Massachusetts Class I Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) in February 2021.

In 2021, 37 customers contributed $7,152 to this initiative which purchased 238 RECs in January 2022.   

In 2022, 20 customers contributed $5,680 to this initiative which purchased 153 RECs in January 2023.

In 2023, 13 customers contributed $3,939 to this initiative which purchased 101 RECs in January 2024.

For 2024, 15 customers are on pace to contribute about $4,858 to purchase RECs in January 2025.
